The Telehealth Analytics Coordinating Center (TACC) is a statewide hub hosted by the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa’s Social Science Research Institute (Health Policy Initiative) to help Hawai‘i’s telehealth partners measure, learn, and improve together. As part of the Pili Ola Telehealth Network under Hawai‘i’s Rural Health Transformation Program, TACC builds and maintains a unifying analytics dashboard, convenes monthly technical assistance calls to align shared metrics and evaluation methods, and conducts quarterly Rapid Cycle Assessments to provide timely feedback on performance and emerging needs. TACC also produces quarterly research and policy briefs and an annual report to support transparency, strengthen coordination across telehealth initiatives, and advance equitable access and outcomes for rural and neighbor-island communities.
Hawai‘i’s island geography creates real access barriers, especially for residents in rural and neighbor-island communities. Telehealth can reduce travel burdens and expand access, but only if programs are measured consistently and improved continuously. Accessing services can be more time-consuming and costly for many residents. TACC helps partners use a shared data language and actionable analytics to identify gaps and close disparities in access, quality, and outcomes.
Telehealth programs often operate with different definitions, data systems, and reporting timelines. That fragmentation makes it difficult to see what is working, identify gaps, and quickly scale effective approaches—particularly in rural settings where access barriers and resource constraints are most pronounced.
TACC’s mission is to improve telehealth performance and equity across Hawai‘i by coordinating data, measurement standards, and continuous learning across partners.
